I suspect that anyone who does even one craft has probably found that it requires a certain minimum amount of stuff. Some require a box worth, at minimum. Some require only what you can store in an envelope. No matter what the craft, in my experience the most fun and interesting way to store craft supplies (even a little more fun than IKEA products, dare I say?) is in other crafts. To that end, here are four storage crafts.
The easiest of the bunch, this needle organizer is really no more than a piece of felt with holes punched into it to fit in a binder.
Rachel at Whipup.net made this egg carton pincushion. This seems like it might be fun to make with kids and could be a fun teacher or neighbor gift.
Care at Obsessively Stitching made a makeup bag from a handbag. I’m not much of a makeup girl, but I love makeup bags and pencil cases for all the essentials I want to take with me. Being a knitter, I pretty much always have a tape measure, a crochet hook, a few stitch markers, and a pencil (for marking patterns) with me. Add life’s little essentials like tissues, lip gloss, Advil, etc. and one small bag that you can throw in any project bag, and you’re ready to go. (I saw this one originally at Dollar Store Crafts.)
And what to throw them in? Sister Diane created these oilcloth Project Keepers to store projects-in-progress.
