Who doesn’t love candles? In these dark, cold winter months they bring warmth and light into our homes again. While candles are a traditional part of the holidays for many, they are also a wonderful way to brighten the day if you get a case of the post-holidays blues. Because they are wonderful at any time I tried to include some crafts that are more holidays oriented and some that can be year round pleasures.

Pam at Gingerbread Snowflakes makes these beautiful candles for Advent. Hers use tissue paper, but if you are interested in using rubber stamps you should check out the tutorial that she links to in her post.

Decorated pillar candles. They give you clip art in the tutorial, but you could also print up almost anything you’d like. (From MarthaStewart.com.)

An emergency candle in an Altoids tin. You can choose your color, and this would be great to keep in the car, or as a gift for people who drive a lot or are interested in emergency preparedness. (From Instructables.)
