Embroidery Week!

I realize that embroidery may seem like an odd choice for this site. Often when I used to think of embroidery I pictured intricate machine stitching and stylish, intricate fabrics. And, while those are completely valid examples, as Jenny Hart puts it, “If you make decorative stitches on fabric, you’re embroidering.” There are hundreds of thousands (millions?) of large scale projects out there, but sometimes I just want to embellish the corner of a dishtowel or the hem of a t-shirt. To this end, it’s embroidery week here at FasterCraft HQ. (The chair front of the TV playing Battlestar Galactica, today.)

There are numerous sites/projects/techniques I want to tell you about, but for now, you may be wondering what you need to get started. To this end I made a shopping list for anyone who wants to get started. You can find it here. Assuming you already own scissors, you can still get started for less than $20(US).
