in Chinese New Year, Holiday

Remember when we were kids and Valentine’s automatically meant cards from everyone in our class, a party, candy, and cookies? This were good times. But now, I don’t know. It feels awkward to give Valentine’s to co-workers. My friends all have kids and my place is not child-safe, so the party idea is out. And I’m trying to cut down on “bad” carbs. And Mr. FC has created 2 alternate holidays to celebrate us, thereby annulling the traditional celebrations. What’s a girl to do?

Well, Valentine’s day, this year, falls on the same day as the first year of Chinese New Year. If you, like me, are sitting out the traditional Valentine’s celebrations, or just want to get more mileage out of your red decorations and/or red underwear, this could be the holiday for you. I’ve included f few links for crafts, as well as some information about Chinese New Year below. Whatever you celebrate, I hope 4708 is a great year for all of you.

Information:

Make your own heart-shaped red envelopes
Paper Fortune Cookies (If you don’t have a circle cutter or a way to die-cut circles then you can always trace around a bowl or plate.)
